Simple Curiosity
Simple Cu·ri·os·i·ty
A dictionary defined “Curiosity” as follows:
- the desire to learn or know about anything; inquisitiveness.
- a curious, rare, or novel thing.
- a strange, curious, or interesting quality.
Curiosity may also be interpreted as a negative trait. For example – when showing interest in a neighbour’s activities. Or, the number of times we have peeped over a fellow-passenger’s shoulder ,while taking a metro ride home, to see what they are reading or doing?
If a child was not curious, the child will grow up being indifferent. When we are inquisitive, our minds become more perceptive of the ongoing activity around us. Instead of just “passing” through, we are more observant.
For an artist, a key ingredient to achieving creativity is curiosity. We need that element, to explore beyond our mental barriers. Our imagination can be fired up. Perceptions, that were created can be probed further.
In this exhibition, viewers are invited to share the photographers’ curiosity. Or perhaps, you might have your own interpretation of what you see.
